In short, yes, and no!  Late fees must stop when an account has been submitted to us for collection.  In some cases, it is not only against our policy, but against the law to add excessive late fees and penalties.

You can continue to calculate interest agreed to in a contract signed by the debtor.  If you calculate interest on a debtor's account we will need to know the annum percentage rate when the debt is turned over to us for collection.  This is so our system can accrue the interest on a daily bases.  Interest will stop if a lawsuit is filed, however, some courts allow for an annum interest rate to accrue for the amount of the judgment.

WHY SHOULD WE USE Merticon, LLC
TO COLLECT OUR DEBTS RATHER THAN ATTORNEYS DIRECTLY?
Most attorneys or law firms have multiple functions and do not commit to one particular field of service.  However, we are a collection agency; that is all we do.  We only have our attorneys work on those accounts we are filing suit on and in most cases we collect your money without the use of our attorneys.

In the event we have to file a lawsuit, we have our own team of attorneys that work for us.  It is our opinion that by using us, rather than your own attorneys, you will save not only in fees, but time as well.  Our attorneys work for us in a very time friendly manner to ensure that we get the fastest litigation possible in the event of a lawsuit, and at no cost to you.  We also have the technical ability to handle your accounts more efficiently than most attorneys.

In short - using us, rather than attorneys directly - saves you time and money!
